Projects
Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Below are the projects in which we are currently involved:

Head Start - Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Children who grow up in homes where parents do not read, or have only marginal reading skills, often lack early exposure to reading. They do not have stories read to them by a parent. They do not see books or print materials in their homes. They often do not have parental help with schoolwork. Kiwanis clubs help change the future by giving young children the gift of reading. To support the Young Children: Priority One focus on children prenatal through age five, the Kiwanis Club of Grafton has established Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) projects in Head Start programs at Yorktown Elementary and Grafton Bethel Elementary Schools in York County. Kiwanis members volunteer to read books to children in these programs on a scheduled basis, usually once or twice a month at each school. Reading Is Fundamental Inc. (RIF) is a US nonprofit, nationwide organization that brings children and books together to help young people acquire the habit of reading. Children who read grow up to become adults who can read. So, RIF does more than help local sponsors distribute books to children—it develops a better educated, more informed public Katherine Young

USO Airport Service Center Support The USO Airport Service Center at Patrick Henry Field [Newport News / Williamsburg International Airport (PHF)], is a place for information and comfort for our travelling active and retired service personnel. We feel it is very important as some of our service men and woman may have never flown before. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Grafton volunteer to help staff the USO booth 3 nights a week throughout the year as do the 4 other clubs in Kiwanis District 23.
